It’s going to depend a lot on the condition of the coins, and in some cases, where the coins were minted. But some of the coins are silver, and the silver value sets a "floor" for the coin price-it can never go lower that the price of the silver in it. Right now, silver is $30.86 per troy ounce, so of the silver coins,
US quarter 1943 $5.58
Australia crown: $25.95
Each of the British half crowns: $12.98
French 50 Centimes: $2
Canada 5 cents: $1.06
That’s an absolute minimum. Several of the coins have different varieties that can be worth quite a bit more, especially if they’re in really nice condition.
Probably your best bet is to take them to a coin dealer, and ask for an appraisal (Don’t say you’re interested in selling them-tell him you need it for insurance purposes). The figure he should give you is the "replacement value"-what it would cost for you to buy those coins. If you were to sell any of them, you’d probably get half that amount.
keep em as a memory of yr father.
