One actually has to be some what Intelligent to collect coins in any manner that might bring them profits in the future. That aside, coin collecting is also fun and one can actually learn something. Coin collectors are a friendly bunch and like to help fellow collectors out by sharing knowledge. We care less what type of coins one collects or how they do it. We also do not care if the collector is rich or has a strict budget. It is one hobby that has few rules and the collectors actually get along with each other, even though we may not agree on things. I too take offense of calling anything nerdy. Try coin collecting it will keep you out of trouble.

It depends who it is. If your interested in coins then its not nerdy. If your not interested in coins then it would be nerdy to some people. Like if you think golf is a sport or just a mini relaxing game not really a sport. I collect coins myself from all over the world like Ireland and Jamaica and all those countries. My friend collects stamps and I think its nerdy because I’m not interested in stamps. I personally don’t think coin collecting is nerdy. It all depends on what your interests are.
