Where can I get Japanese Yen?
My sister is really into Japanese culture, and while she is too young to go to Japan by herself (and it’s too expensive for anyone we know to take her), she is still interested in everything Japanese.
Well her birthday is coming up, and I would love to get her Japanese Yen as a present. Other than Canadian coins, she has never seen any type of currency from other countries. So I know she would LOVE Yen as a gift.
Where can I go to get some? I would really like to get all the denominations under USD. Are there any websites?
Thanks!
I’m looking for all types of Japanese currency, not just their coins!

The problem will be most banks don’t deal with COINS.
I’d go to a local souvenir shop where Japanese tourists go, if you have that kind of thing near you. They’ll have stacks of notes and coins and will hopefully help you "buy" them at the current exchange rate.
Go to any large banks, such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc and they will be able to exchange your $ into yen.
You can find some here

You can exchange US$ for yen at any bank or money exchange office. Money exchange offices usually offer a better rate.
Also, since the yen is worth less than a penny, you cannot get just coins. You will likely have to purchase a minimum amount.
Furthermore, banks and money exchange offices only have paper notes.
The best way to get coins in all denominations is from someone you know who is going there, and can bring them back for you.

It seems under US$10 is a bit less than necessary budget though.
