Where is the mint mark on a 1902 Canadian five-cent coin?
I understand there is an "H" mint mark somewhere…but i can’t find it. My guidebook distinguishes between a "large broad H" and a "small narrow H" but I cannot find an "H" anywhere on the coin.

Not all the five cent coins were made at the Heaton mint that year, so not all of them have the "H" mintmark-yours might not have it. If your coin has one, it’s at the bottom of the reverse, between the wreath and the edge of the coin.
There are 2 types of 1902 5 cent coins one having an H mint mark for the Heaton mint and one without a mint mark struck at the Royal Mint in London. There are 2 varieties of the mint mark H one being quite small and the other much larger. The mint mark is indeed on the St. Edwards crown reverse (back) of the coin at the bottom under the box. The small H variety is the scarcer of the 2.
